Barbados continues to be the pack leader when it comes to student mobility among countries in the Eastern Caribbean that are listed on the Caribbean Student Mobility Index. Following a review of student mobility in 2019, there has been a steady increase in Barbadian students enrolled in overseas institutions across the globe. Overall, positive signs of growth have been observed across various country markets in the region.
In spite of the increasing interest in pursuing studies abroad, there are factors which may limit or improve mobility in 2019 across the country markets. The Index, which was re-evaluated to now include safety as an indicator, is now calculated at 24 max points. Based on this new addition, country markets were re-evaluated, taking into account any other occurrences in the local market.
